Lauren Jacobs is executive director of the Partnership for Working Families, a national federation of regional power-building organizations. An organizer for over 20 years, she began organizing factories with UNITE in the South and later joined the Service Employees International Union’s (SEIU) Justice for Janitors campaign. During her 17 years at the SEIU, she served in a number of roles, from organizer to vice president, and led campaigns for economic justice and the right to organize with thousands of janitors and security officers. Before joining the Partnership, she worked with the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC) as the organization’s national organizing director. Jacobs is based in Philadelphia but remains a proud native New Yorker and daughter of Harlem.
